Writing Challenges But No Prizes

Two writing challenges for fun--no prizes, but maybe someone will enjoy what you write.

1. Write a short paragraph about something. Then put it into Babel Fish and choose a language to translate it into. Translate it one more time into another language and then translate that back into English. Then put the new English version and the original English version back in as a comment on this blog.

2. Write a sentence or a paragraph using words that start with the same letter or words that are similar but not the same. Example of the second one: The flower flourishes after being dusted with flour at four in the morning by Fixit Flora in the fountain. ( I guess this is an example of the of using the same beginning letters also.)

I wrote a story where almost all of the words began with B. It was for my friend and her beloved betrothed, Bobby. It was about the boogeyman. But I have no idea where it is. Bummer.
I will think about a new one.

That was wild...

I will post my results backwards starting with the last translation - back to English after changes...and then will post my original.

I am absolutely insane about my invaluable children. I often tell them that I am so happy the god did them and this if the god established all children in the world it of those are me will have gathered. I cannot wait to meet the mirakel the growth in and time to enjoy which also passed with the newest treasure. My children were prepared to also waste their love. _ it to be so correct to have to them my to grow it belly touch and word love to tell them sibling and to intend to them to give kicks the laughter as a baby them. The life is well!

My original:

I’m absolutely crazy about my precious children. I tell them often that I’m so glad God made them and that if God lined up all the children in the world they are the ones I would have picked. I can’t wait to meet the miracle growing within and enjoy time spent with the newest treasure too. My children are ready to lavish their love as well. It’s so neat to have them touch my growing tummy and say words of love to their sibling and to hear them laugh as the baby kick them. Life is good!

Something definitely gets lost in the translation. I took one verse of a favorite hymn and did this same exercise. Can you tell what hymn it used to be? There are plenty of key words.

Like sugar factory for qu' it keeps a newborn baby, and you felt the pride and the joy, which it gives. But more largely still l' calm insurance, this child can the uncertain days master puisqu' it lives. Puisqu' it lives, I can master tomorrow. Puisqu' it lives, the whole fear goes it. There I white keep l' Future and the life are l' worth; Existence exactly puisqu' it lives.

I had someone sing this song at my son's dedication at church.

Oh man... let's see if I can remember...

For Because He Lives (you are right Julie!)

I went - English to Greek to I don't remember to English (I know I'm a lot of help)

For the paragraph about my kids -

English to Dutch to French to English.

Rhonda Wanda Obame decided to go to University of Kansas. She enrolled and chose her classes. She signed up for Physics, English Literature, Frence and Sports Medicine. She soon got so overwhelmed she was confusing English Lit and Frence and was doing physics experiments instead of sports injury exams.
