Writing a Story Together

I have an idea. Would any of you be interested in helping me write a story for children? I would write the opening paragraphs. Then others who are interested would one at a time write about an event of your choosing to further plot. I suppose I would write the ending. Let me know in the next day or two if you are interested, and we'll get started. It could be fun.

That could be fun but I don't know if I completely understand. I'd need to see it...

yes. I will play. It may turn out to be a wild mish-mash of nonsense - but all the better!

That sounds like fun! Just remember some of us aren't as geared to kids as you are. I'll play. More instructions coming?

This is how it would work. I would write a paragraph or more to set the story. The next assigned person would develop the next scene making sure to stay consistent with the initial info. If the kid likes to pick his nose and wipe it on his sister and he is known for his kindness and strangeness, then the next person would take some aspect of that info and write about the next event. You would do your writing as a comment in my blog. Then I might (probably will) edit it and add it to my blog entry, and so on. (I won't start him out picking and wiping probably.)

I will try to have my info in by Monday. I will list some defining info about the main character, who the other characters are, some possible events and my paragraphs. Then each of you can pick the scene you want to write and we will be off and running. Yay!
