Accidents

A while back I broke something in the shower. I now have to call the owner of our duplex. Then this past Friday, I dumped all the excess ice out of the icemaker. When I went to turn the thing back on, I must have accidentally hooked the lever that moves up and down to pour out the ice under the edge of the icemaker. I guess the motor got worn out trying to work. Now it won't work. I have to call the owner of our duplex.

A couple of weeks ago, my husband was playing a game with the kids in our Master's Club at church. It was a relay race that required going to the opposite end of the room with a flat bean bag on the head (the interesting part was that my husb and the other man playing had to move with their heads and hands at very odd angles). Well, my husband was hurrying, got his feet caught somehow and fell full frontal on the floor. It knocked the wind out of him. He stayed on the floor for several minutes trying to catch his breath while all the kids were standing around him. He scraped his elbow, and I think his ribs were a little sore the next day. But he survived and continued playing the game. Hero!

Then on Friday the husband was out in the parking lot at work checking out the Mountain Man Fruit and Nuts, and he was hanging onto a bar or handle of some kind, and it slipped and hit his knee really hard. He decided he may have broken his knee cap or something because he was in tremendous pain. He ended up going to the doctor who said, yes he hurt himself, but nothing too drastic. And oh, yes, he has arthritis in three places around that knee.

Well, here are our conclusions. He thinks I break things, and he doesn't really like that. I think he hurts himself, and I don't really like that. But we aren't bored.

Okay, I didn't really laugh when I first read that dad fell and knocked the wind out of himself, but then I got to thinking about it and had a good chuckle. Maybe it's because I know he didn't really hurt himself. I bet it terrified those kids, him going down like that, gasping for air, not getting up. Oh man. Scarred for life I tell you.

How's his knee? Feeling better? Man, he is a mess!

Such drama! My own dad has fallen down the front steps at least twice that I know of, and the back ones once also. He manages to go on his bottom, but still it is a frightening thing to think about. You think its funny while your terrified your gonna have to get him to the hospital(make him go), and you don't want him to get hurt. Now about tearing up things...is that just because they were old and needed replacing? I thought so, me too.

I imagine the worst part of falling down was the audience. A friend of mine did that downtown Denver - BAM - broke a rib.

I have no comment about the breaking things.

Some things break when they're ready to break. I have a mental picture of your hubby hitting the ground. The audience was respectful I hope. Nothing seems to hurt as badly as hitting those nerve spots on a knee or elbow! Hoping all will heal soon.

Its not boring around here either -someone is always falling - usually me - down the stairs, up the stairs, etc...
