Odd People

I've thought of many things I could write on my first blog entry--something amazing, funny, uplilfting and memorable. While I could write one blog to cover all those possibilities, I wouldn't want to set up expections for future blogs that might put pressure on me and destroy my very healthy confidence. Therefore, I will only write about how much I like odd people.

Odd people are what make the world an interesting place. As a teacher I've always found that odd children keep the classroom from becoming too mundane (as if it ever could be). I like the little girl who some days came to class and called herself a different name and acted like a different, smarter person. I like the student who wanted everything to be really neat and organized, and as she stood by my desk started stacking my many poky stacks so they were neat and lined up. She then stopped herself as she realized this was the teacher's desk. I like the boy who believed the bones dug up in his backyard were really dinosaur bones, and I wasn't able to change his mind. I like the piano student who often repeats my every direction to illustrate she has heard and understands.

Under this group of "odd people' actually falls everyone I've ever known very well. Deep down we are all odd. If we don't let people get to know us and we don't get to know them, we will never experience the "oddness" and we will miss a blessing in life.

If you are odd, I want to get to know you. Can you reveal the truth? Tell me some odd things about yourself. Queen

Odd things about me...

When I'm doing an outline, it has to be perfectly whether it's typed or written.

I.
A.
B.
1.
2.
II.

All things must be spaced evenly when I'm taking notes. If I skip one line the first time but the next time I forget to skip a line, I may have to start over.

I wish this sort of perfection bled into other parts of my life like my car, house, classroom...

Stink! the outline thing didn't work out...ignore the example.

Well, I'm glad you noticed. I suppose you mean the points should be indented in the proper way???
Yes, indeed. QOTW

Wow, wonder who this blogging lady is? Probably no one has known as many odd people as I have. I specialize in them.

I had them all set up indented like and when I pushed "publish your comment" and it came up, it went all crazy

well, I finally figured out what QOTW stands for and I want to know what makes you think so, when I've been pretty sure that title belongs to me....
I attract odd people. If we are in a crowd of 100 people and one of them is extrememly odd, he will find me. They will all find me. They always find me and talk to me and...touch me. They think I am the librarian or that a sheep is my boyfriend, or maybe they just tell me their life's story.

I'm odd :) But aren't we supposed to be.

Kay, I've had people think I was a librarian more times than I can count and the funny thing is I can even be in my grimy gym clothes and they still think I work at the library. Sad thing is I stop whatever I'm doing and go help them find what they need. Maybe its the fact that I'm usually surrounded by huge piles of children's books that confuses people?? I love our library and I'm there just about every day probably more than some of the librarians.

When Jen said stink I laughed so hard I snorted. That was odd. But I'm normally not odd at all you know.

Robin, I didn't help this guy. It was his carressing of my arm that decided me. I was carrying my purse and browsing. Nothing librarianish about it. He was a homeless man, I believe. And well... odd.

Oh, by the way. Yes, I'm odd, but you already know me, so I feel no need to divulge further information.

You all are very odd. And I mean VERY ODD in the oddest meaning of the word. I laughed out loud a lot. Silly, Silly. You know if odd people unite in a common odd goal, we could probably do something odd together--sky dive and hit the ground, befriend (or befied or befiend as I first tried to type it) opossums and and nervous sloths. It's all good.

Oh no! Another family member joined in. Hi Caleb! How are we ever going to keep our family secrets secret? With this many people involved, that is. I blogged about more odd people.

This is Ashley. I am odd. I am odd because I can't sit still long enough to watch a complete tv show, however, I relate everything to the TV show Friends. I am odd because for 2 years straight I hit every curb in sight when making a right hand turn. I am odd because I have a "crazy eye". I am odd because I almost nailed a handicapped man in a wheelchair pulling out of Wendy's with Jen in the passenger seat. I am so in love with my dog that i wish he were human so I could marry him. I can't stand unvaccuumed carpets. I wear the same casual clothes when i come home from work EVERY SINGLE DAY. Every time i walk by Jen i have to shove something in her face just to irritate her. if the desks in my classroom aren't straight, i want to have a stroke right there. if i find a movie i like i watch it every day for a month. more to come. princess.
