Musicals

I have always loved musicals. "Camelot" is probably my favorite. King Arthur and Guinevere have always fascinated me. I also really like "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers." It's a lot of fun. A bunch of brothers kidnap a bunch of pretty young woman and then get snowed in and their parents can't get to them.

Just recently I watched "Legally Blond--the Musical" on TV. It was wonderful. Very fun and compelling. I would like to own it, but I don't know that it's for sale.

Of course, "Sound of Music," "My Fair Lady," "Mary Poppins," "State Fair," "South Pacific," "Oklahoma," "Singing in the Rain," "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown," and most of the animated Disney movies, especially "The Little Mermaid" -- I love them all. The music is nearly always uplifting and fun.

When I was teaching, several different times I tried to get a group of students to start a spur of the moment musical. I told them if someone would start singing and then someone else would join in, before we knew it, we would have a musical going. I never could get one started. But it's not all over yet. We may still be able to start one. Maybe when I see you, you can help me!

Sing about your life or your activities. You may have a musical just waiting to be born. Go for it!

If ever the opportunity arises, I will be all for this musical.

Actually, now that I think about it, I do frequently sing certain sentences...but mostly at home.

Kay says that her hubby does not believe in musicals, he thinks they are unrealistic. But Kay herself (and I) walk around singing all the time. And we are real. I might add I don't sing very good, but I can have fun. I like "Meet me in St. Louie" with the sick baby dolls...great. "I think shes going to die" love it

You forget...the seniors and I broke into "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling" in the middle of class one day.

I basically live in my own musical. You will find me singing at any time of day or night. Any song or phrase that seems to hit the spot. Ask my students.

My husband wants to live in a musical, but it would have to be a comedy also :)

I think I've heard something of that sort at a family gathering or two.

I do sing all the time and my daughter told me that she likes it that I randomly break into song. Nearly every thing my kids say makes me think of a lyric to something.
You will enjoy this:
